Roles and Responsibilities
PRESIDENT
* Preside at all league meetings
* Preside over Executive Committee meetings
* Member of the Grievance Committee
* Attend and represent Minnetonka Baseball at Bennett Family Park Board meetings
* Board Elections
* Executive Committee Elections
* Improvement Ideas for Next Year
* Lead discussion and/or committee to review and build League structure/rules
* Work with a committee to plan and organize the preseason Orientation Meetings
* Develop Season Calendar of important dates
* Conduct the affairs of MBA and execute the policies established by the Board of Directors.
* Communicate to the Board of Directors such matters as deemed appropriate, and make such suggestions as may tend to promote the welfare of MBA
* Designate in writing other directors, if necessary, to have power to make and execute for/and in the name of MBA such contracts and leases they may receive and which have had prior approval of the Board.
Field Liaison:
* Coordinates field usage with cities, Minnetonka School District, and Bennett Family Park.
Field Maintenance (Bennett):
* Oversees the maintenance of the playing fields at BFP
* Spring/Fall Clean-up
* Field/Facility Improvements
Field Maintenance (All Other Fields):
* Oversees the maintenance of all other playing fields used by the League.
* Spring/Fall Clean-up
* Field/Facility Improvements
VICE PRESIDENT
* Preside over monthly Board meetings in the President’s absence
* Preside over Executive Committee meetings in the President’s absence
* Preside over the Grievance Committee
* Assist Director of Leagues with Tryouts / Team Selection / Drafts
* Work with Communications/PR to develop a Survey Plan/Review
* Manages the Code of Conduct
Equipment/Uniforms:
* Organize equipment and uniform purchasing, handout, and collection
PAST PRESIDENT
* Offer a historical perspective.
* Be an advisor to the Board of Directors.
* Preside over the scholarship process.
* Member of the Grievance Committee
* Perform such duties as from time to time may be assigned by the Board of Directors or by the President
SECRETARY
* Preside over the Nominating Committee
* Distribute and Publish Agenda prior to meetings
* Distribute and Publish Minutes after meetings
* Maintain an official record of the League’s activities
* Keep a record of all persons who attend Board meetings
* Maintain a current copy of the Articles and Bylaws
TREASURER
* Handles all financial duties of the League.
* Receives and safely keeps all funds of the League.
* Reports on status of Minnetonka Baseball funds at each Board Meeting.
* Lead Budget Review and present Budget for approval
* Assist in Charter registration
* Prepares and sends out invoices to team sponsors
* Ensures federal and state tax returns are timely filed
* Manages the Conflict of Interest policy and process
DIRECTOR OF LEAGUES – (PRE K – GRADE 6)
* Oversee all Coordinators and activities
* Review and update the rules for each league level
* Approve all coaches at each league level
* Work with League Directors on Regular Season Team Selection/Drafts
* Work with families to resolve any coach/league related issues
Rookie (Pre K – 5) League Director

* Oversees the operation of the League to ensure all rules are followed

* Update all season playing rules and post on the League website
DIRECTOR OF LEAGUES – (GRADES 7-12)
* Oversee all Coordinators and activities
* Review and update the rules for each league level
* Approve all coaches at each league level
* Work with League Directors on Regular Season Team Selection/Drafts
* Work with families to resolve any coach/league related issues
Travel Director
* Lead Travel Committee
* Number of teams at each age group
* Number of teams at each level (AAA/AA)
* Attend all Metro Meetings and communicate to league
* Assist with Coach Recruitment and Selection

* Oversees the operation of the League to ensure all rules are followed.
* Coach Recruitment and Selection (subject to approval by the Board.)
* Lead a league meeting with all managers/coaches to cover all league rules.

* Help Administer Tryouts and Team Selections
* Help Identify Scheduling Needs
* Make sure teams are properly registered in respective leagues
* Update all season playing rules and post on the League website.

TOURNAMENT/EXTENDED PLAY DIRECTOR
* Coordinates and registers tournaments for all teams
Fall Ball Director
* Oversees the operation of the League to ensure all rules are followed.

* Coach Recruiting
* Coordinate Teams and Fields with Participating Communities
* Update all season playing rules and post on the League website.
SCHEDULING DIRECTOR (PRE K – GRADE 6)
* Scheduling of practices for all MBA teams Grades PreK - 6
* Scheduling of games for the MBA teams Grades PreK - 6
* Year End Playoffs
* Notify umpires of schedule and schedule changes
* Keep website up to date
* Responsible for all rescheduling due to weather
* Oversee all Coordinators and activities
* Negotiate with other Little Leagues and schedule games and fields for
appropriate league levels
Minnetonka Little League
* Serve as the contact person for District 1and Little League International
Umpire Director
* Works directly with Scheduling Directors to coordinate and schedule umpires
as needed
SCHEDULING DIRECTOR (GRADES 7-12)
* Scheduling of practices for all MBA teams Grades 7 - 12
* Scheduling of games for the MBA teams Grades 7-12
* Year End Playoffs

COACHING/TRAINING DIRECTOR
* Responsible for creating the player development plan for all players.

* Works directly with Coach Training Director

LEAGUE INFORMATION DIRECTOR
* Manage the league’s official website
* Set up online registration
* Oversee Registration Coordinator and all activities
* Assign online administrative rights to other MBA Board Members or others
identified by the President.
* Encourage creation of team web sites to managers, coaches, and parents
* Ensure that league news and scores are updated online on a regular basis
* Collect, post, and distribute important information on league activities
* Serves as primary contact person regarding optimizing use of the Internet for league administration and for distributing information to all MBA members
Registration Coordinator
* Works with the various League Directors to ensure all necessary data captured for team assignments during the on-line registration process.
* Works directly with League Information Director to assist individuals that have trouble registering by themselves on-line
*Will also have access to the member and registration data in the system and will assist in getting information from registration to the League Directors
* Coordinate Registration activities

Communications Director
* Responsible for all League Communications
* Prepare and send out all email communications to MBA members

SPONSOR/FUNDRAISING DIRECTOR
* Solicit and secure local sponsorships to support league operations
* Collect and review sponsorship and fundraising opportunities
* Maintain records of monies secured through sponsorship and fundraising initiatives
* Oversee all coordinators and activities
Sponsorship Fundraising
* Identify and contact team sponsors
* Works directly with Sponsorship Director
Golf Committee
* Coordinate and Organize MBA Annual Golf Event
* Works Directly with Fundraising Director
League Event Organizer
* Coordinate and Organize MBA League Event
* Works directly with Fundraising Director
TEAM PARENT/CONCESSIONS DIRECTOR
* Serve on MBA Board and attend Board Meetings
* Work with Head Coaches to recruit Team Managers for all teams (LL and Travel)
* Conduct and Train Team Managers at a Team Manager Meeting in Spring
* Provide weekly communication to Team Managers with focus for that week
* Work with MBA chosen Photographer(s) to coordinate Team Photo Day
*Create a committee of volunteers to oversee Concession Volunteer Scheduling at all locations & Purchasing at Freeman Park
* Help to provide volunteers for MBA Events such as Opening Day, Grill Days…
* Liaison between Bennett Family Park and Veteran’s Field regarding Concession scheduling and planning needs
* Liaison between West Metro Miracle League and MBA to help provide Buddy Teams for that partner organization
* Oversees all Coordinators and Leaders within Team Manager & Concession areas
SAFETY DIRECTOR
* Perform Background Checks on coaches
* Source Insurance for all leagues
* Creation and Updating of League Safety Plan
* Liaison between families and insurance provider in the event of an injury
* Communicate any safety issues to the Board
MINNETONKA HIGH SCHOOL HEAD COACH (CONSULTANT)
