Frequently Asked Questions:

1.  Multiple players in the league?  Please sign up for 1 shift for each player, unless fully exempt as noted above ^.

2.  Coaching or Team Manger for one team and have other players?  Unless you are a Travel Head Coach, you will still need to sign up for shifts for your other players not on the team you are coaching or managing.

3.  Does it matter which concession stand or event that I sign up for? No. You can sign up for a shift at Freeman, Bennett, or Veteran’s or other events that are listed to volunteer.

4.  How long are shifts?  Volunteer shifts are generally 2 to 2.5 hours. Other volunteer shifts may be different but should not exceed 3 hours. There is no overlap from one shift to the next, so please be on time!  As with other volunteering events the time allocation is listed on the event sign-up.

5.  Can I opt-out of my shift requirement?  Yes, at the time you register your player, you can opt-out of your volunteer requirement for a fee of $200 per player. If you opt out and later become a coach, you can request a credit for your opt-out fee.  Such credit can be applied to a future registration.

6.  What happens if I don’t show up for my shift?  We understand that things come up and schedules change, so if you are unable to make it to the shift you signed up for, please remove your name from the sign-up at least 48 hours in advance. If you do not show up for your scheduled shift, your MBA account will be assessed a $25 fine. This charge will be on your account and must be paid prior to any future registrations. You will still need to complete a shift before the end of the season.

7.   What happens if I don’t complete my shift?  If you do not complete a required shift for your player, your MBA account will be assessed a $250 fine. This charge will be on your account and must be paid prior to any future registrations.

8.   Shifts filled up fast - will more be added? More shifts may be added for Opening Day, Bigsy Tournament or Post-Season tournaments taking place in June and July.  The league will be notified when that happens and schedules will be revised.

9.  Can my child work a shift?  Anyone 16 and older can fulfill a shift requirement.  No children under 16 are allowed in any of the concession stands due to safety reasons.

10. What if my shift is rained out?  You will be notified by an MBA Official if you do not need to report for your scheduled shift due to weather or field conditions. Communications will be sent to the email account you used to sign-up for a shift.
