Squirt guns at our last practice
by posted 06/16/2021

Hello,

Last email of the day!  It is supposed to be hot again today for our last practice.  After we play baseball for 30 minutes, I think it would be fun for the boys to have a squirt gun fight for the last half.  Please have your son bring a squirt gun filled with water , extra water and a towel if he has one.

We have about 4 squirt guns, maybe more we can share if anyone needs one.

Thanks!

Hello Rocket 55 parents,

I just saw the email from Sarah and wanted to say thank you Sarah for all your help as team manager!

Here is more info on the End of Year Tournament.  You can download the Tourney Machine app and navigate to our division/team.  Info can also be found on the league's website under the Event Calendar MBA In-House Season End Tourney.

I'll try my best to communicate dates and times as I hear them, but I want you to know where to find info too.

Please let me know if you have questions!    sara.ellis.mn@outlook.com  and calls/ texts at 612-616-1842

Thanks,

Weekend Info & Tournament: Rocket 55
by posted 06/16/2021

Hello Rocket 55! The Scherbrings (especially one of us ;)) were so sad to miss last weekend's game. Looks like it was a nail biter!

THIS WEEKEND

This weekend, we play only on Sunday, at Freeman #1. This game is against Davanni's who we just played a couple weeks ago. Should be a great match up!

TOURNAMENT

Reminder, the end of season tournament begins next week. We are currently showing as being in 12th place as teams have been updating their results (and likely playing make up games). Because we only play one game this weekend, things could still shift around a bit, but its looking like we'll end up in the Consolation Bracket, meaning we would play on Thursday 6/23 AND Friday 6/25. If we win, we'd then play for the consolation championship on Saturday morning. PLEASE LET US KNOW ASAP IF YOU HAVE CONFLICTS ON THOSE DAYS! It will be a bummer if we can't compete due to a short roster. We will send an email out ASAP after final scores are submitted and the tournment scheduled is final.

COACH'S GIFTS

We'd love to be able to get the coaching staff a gift to say THANK YOU for volunteering this season. If you're willing to contribute, please bring cash tonight/this weekend or Venmo me at @Sarah-Scherbring and I will coordinate.

END OF SEASON PARTY

Stay tuned for more on this! Trying to coordinate something to celebrate these awesome boys soon. :)

VOLUNTEER

Reminder, if you haven't yet fulfilled your volunteer duties you will be charged a $250 fine by the leage. Link to sign up is here; they are looking for concession stand help this weekend.

Thank you all! Please reach out with questions.

End of Year Tournament
by posted 06/08/2021

Hello,

Your kids played some awesome baseball this past weekend!  It's fun to see their excitement!

Here is some info I received about the end of the year tournament.  Please save the dates on your calendar Monday 6/21 to Saturday 6/26.

We are currently in 8th place after our weekend wins, so depending on our next few games, we will see where we place for the tournament.

The brackets, seeding and game time placement will be completed once the final league games are complete (6/20). The tournament will be held Monday 6/21 thru Saturday 6/26. We will use the Tourney Machine application to track results and manage the brackets.

FORMAT:

The 8 year old tournament will be a two tier event- with the regular season teams #1-8 in a top bracket and teams #9-14 in a bottom bracket resulting in two tiers for Championship, a 2nd “Consolation” Championship and a set of Friendship games for each bracket.

RULES: I am not proposing any changes to league regular season rules.

UMPIRES: The league is providing via our umpire training program and via NMUA.

CONCESSIONS: Concessions will be open at Bennett Family Park and if staffing permits at Freeman.

FIELDS: We plan to use Bennett, Freeman, Manitou and Excelsior as needed.

Thanks, I’ll pass along more details as we get closer to the event.
