Community 16-18 YO Rules

SENIOR YOUTH BASEBALL LEAGUE

10th – 12th Grade Inter-Community League

Eligibility
  • The Senior Youth Baseball League is for high school, 10-12 graders, not playing on a travel roster.

All current Senior Youth Baseball League Rules shall apply in addition to the conduct and disciplinary measures below.

  • Bench and Field Conduct

    A coach, player, substitute, attendant or other bench personnel shall not commit any unsportsmanlike act to include, but not limited to:

  • Fake a tag without the ball.

  • Carelessly throw a bat

    The penalty for the above: At the end of playing action, the umpire shall issue a warning to the coach of the team involved and the next offender on that team shall be ejected.

  • Use profanity, make a racial or ethnic slur, use references to a person’s sexual orientation, use intimidating language or tactics, make remarks reflecting unfavorably upon any other person, or taunting or baiting.

    The penalty for the above: The umpire shall eject the offender from the game, unless the offense is judged to be of a minor nature. The umpire may warn the offender and then eject him if he repeats the offence. The warning or ejection shall be made at the end of the play or action. Failure to comply shall result in the game being forfeited.

  • Deliberately throw a bat, helmet, etc.

  • Initiate malicious contact.

  • Call “Time” or use any command or commit any act for the purpose of causing a balk.

  • Leave their position or bench area for the purpose of fighting or physical confrontation.

    The penalty for the above: The umpire shall eject the offender from the game. Failure to comply shall result in the game being forfeited. A coach who attempts to prevent a fight or restore order is not in violation of the rule. A repeated incidence of fighting will result in an ejection from the league.

    Umpires are to record names of players and coaches ejected and reported them to the umpire coordinator. The umpire coordinator is to report those ejected to the community commissioner.

     

Discipline
  • Players-high school rules apply.

  • Coaches-high school rules apply.

     

Disputes
  • Disputes are will be decided by the Community Commissioners and, if there is commissioner split decision the League Coordinator will break the tie.
